The Career Enhancement Program

The Career Enhancement Program is designed for graduates who completed the Massage Therapy Program prior to 1998 and wish to upgrade their professional skills while matriculating toward an Associate in Occupational Studies degree. These returning students take the same courses offered within the degree-granting program. It is a 30 credit-hour program that may be completed in 3 semesters, or longer if fewer credits are taken each semester.

This program is also open to graduates of other New York State licensure-qualifying massage therapy programs.

Schedule

The schedule can be very flexible depending upon space availability. We have morning, afternoon, evening and Saturday classes.

Students are admitted into the program three times a year, in September, January and April/May.

Prerequisites

Graduates of the Massage Therapy Diploma Program must convert the clock hours from their classes to credit hours in order for courses to be transferable.

All applicants for the Career Enhancement Program must have 31.5 credits in the following courses: Human Anatomy and Physiology (16), Pathology (4),Swedish Massage (5), Shiatsu (4.5), Clinical Internship (1) and First Aid, CPR, Business Practices and Professional Development (1). Any applicant who has not had Shiatsu will also need to take Introduction to Eastern Bodywork and Theory as a prerequisite. Shiatsu I, Shiatsu II, and Eastern Evaluation may be taken as co-requisites while entered in the program.

Details on admission requirements and the application process are available in the Career Enhancement Program handbook.

Tuition

Tuition for the Career Enhancement Program is $275 per credit hour.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify. Interest free payment plans can also be arranged.
