Our Mission

The mission of the Personal Training Program is to provide the highest level of training in exercise physiology and fitness instruction, based on the most current research available and tempered by a historical perspective of the industry.

 

It is the program's goal to train individuals to:

  • Safely and effectively utilize exercise testing to create and oversee customized exercise programs for healthy clients and clients with controlled conditions/diseases.

  • Modify exercise programs for clients with orthopedic conditions doing pre-habilitation to prevent injury and/or post-rehabilitation exercise after a client has completed physical therapy.

  • Help clients to create health and wellness in their lives in a way they feel is relevant.

  • Remain current in the research and trends in the exercise field and understand their applications to the prescription and teaching of exercise.

  • Critically analyze current research and trends in the exercise industry in order to advise clients and effectively promote their safety, health and well-being based on the most current research.
