Financial Aid

The Swedish Institute participates in many programs that help students pay for their tuition.

Loans and Grants

The following federal and state financial aid programs, including grants and loans, are available to students in our Acupuncture Program:

  • Subsidized Stafford Loan

  • Unsubsidized Stafford Loan

  • TAP (New York State Tuition Assistance Program)

  • The Office of Vocational and Educational Services for Individuals with Disabilities (VESID)

  • U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Application Procedures

For all tuition assistance programs, applicants must first obtain all the necessary documentation determining eligibility and notify the school prior to registration.

To apply for financial aid, an applicant must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which is used to determine eligibility for all Title IV programs. This form is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov and from the Reception Desk. Be sure to use our federal school code of 016904 when filling out the FAFSA form.

The student must provide the school with financial information as required by law, including, but not limited to, U.S. tax returns. Married students who file separately from their spouses must submit the spouse's financial information as well. Dependent students must submit parents' U.S. tax returns. The Financial Aid Office will help students determine their eligibility.

Monthly Payment Plan

A monthly interest-free payment plan can be arranged at registration.

Scholarships

The Swedish Institute offers The Kan Sung and Liu Yun Goon Scholarship in honor of the parents of Jeffrey C. Yuen. Kan Sung and Liu Yun Goon were immigrants from China who encouraged Mr. Yuen's pursuit of the study of Chinese medicine and allowed him to be ordained into the Taoist lineage.
